Butterflies

Our butterflies came out of their cocoons.Look how beautiful they are!

Releasing our butterflies

3 of our butterflies hatched beautifully.

One has crumpled wings and one is still stuck half in its cocoon.

We released them all.  We hope they fly away to a happy life.

We have a butterfly!

We have our first butterfly. We are waiting for 4 more now.  We have given our butterfly sugared water to drink and some nice fresh flowers for its garden.

All 5 of our caterpillars are in their cocoons.

 Today we transferred them to the butterfly garden.

 We can't wait to see our new butterflies.

Growing caterpillars

Two weeks later:
After the long weekend our caterpillars have really grown very big.

Caterpillars

We have started growing caterpillars in our class. At the moment they are still small, but eating lots and soon they will grow to be much bigger! It won't be long before we have to move them so that they can become butterflies!!!
